Mara Liasson
Mara Liasson is now the national political correspondent for National Public Radio (NPR). Her reports can be heard regularly on NPR's award-winning newsmagazines, Morning Edition and All Things Considered. Prior to taking on this assignment, Liasson was NPR's White House correspondent. During her coverage of the White House, she won the White House Correspondents Association's Merriman Smith Award for daily news three times: in 1994, 1995 and 1997. Each election year, Liasson provides key coverage of the candidates and issues in both presidential and congressional races.
A seasoned reporter, Liasson is able to lend an unbiased opinion of congress, the White House, and Elections, at anypoint in the year.
